Henry Sokolski is a leading expert on the problems that a further spread of nuclear weapons will pose for the United States and the world. He is the Executive Director of the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center, a Washington non-profit established in 1994. He had extensive experience as a Congressional staff member and in the Executive Branch before becoming the Deputy for Nonproliferation Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He is the author or editor of eight books, and numerous reports, articles and blog posts on nuclear nonproliferation matters. An adjunct professor at Georgetown University, he has served on several official boards, commissions and studies, and is a consultant on nuclear proliferation matters to the government’s National Intelligence Council. His latest book, the second updated edition of Underestimated: Our Not so Peaceful Nuclear Future, was just published.
