Miami Law and Carmen Perez-Llorca, Director of the International Graduate Law Programs, cordially invite you to attend the International Law Lecture Series talk featuring Professor Randall Hansen. The Global Refugee Crisis: Causes and Solutions The world is facing a global refugee crisis unprecedented since the 1945-1952 period, when nation-state formation and the shifting of national borders provoked the flight or expulsion of tens of millions of people. There are currently at least 19.5 million refugees globally; by 2014, 3.8 million people had fled Syria alone. Overall, there were by mid-2015 59.5 forcibly displaced persons worldwide, a historical high. It is a humanitarian disaster of immense proportions; this report explores its causes and what might be done to resolve it. Monday, February 15, 2016Miami Law Campus Lunch will be provided.
