Social Justice Lawyering in Islamic Finance

Dr. Tunku Alina Alias is a consultant with the Malaysian legal firm of Wong Lu Peen & Tunku Alina, which she co-founded in 1992. She is also a mediator with the Malaysian Mediation Center and an associate mediator for the Singapore Mediation Council. She specializes in corporate and private investments and her academic interest is in Islamic finance and philanthropy, in particular the waqf (Islamic charitable foundation). Tunku Alina has been an adjunct Research Fellow with the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) (a university established by the Central Bank of Malaysia) since January 2013.
