The ProofreadingServices.com Writing Scholarships
The ProofreadingServices.com Writing Scholarship program was created to reward the most talented student writers in America. This year, six scholarships will be awarded, ranging from $100 to $500. Three scholarships will be awarded to university students (graduate students and undergraduate students are judged in the same category). To qualify, you must be enrolled in a U.S. university, you must meet the GPA minimum of 3.2 and you must write an essay as per the instructions and submit it online by June 1, 2014. The winners of the scholarships will be announced on July 1, 2014, and their entries will be posted on the blog.

Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. 2nd Annual Law School Scholarship Essay Contest
Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. are proud to present the 2nd annual Law School Scholarship Essay Contest. Law school students who enter the contest will write one essay. The topic must be chosen from the list of three topics, which are explained in more detail on the website. The topics focus on: nursing home abuse and negligence; distracted driving; and failure to diagnose patients in hospitals and clinics. The goal is to support the educational efforts of students, while raising awareness about these important issues. This scholarship is open to all students 18 years of age or older at an American Bar Association approved institution. The link to all the scholarship information and rules may be accessed online. There, the students will be able to download the application form, and view all topics they can write about. First prize is $2,500, second prize is $1,500, third prize is $500, and there will be five honorable mention prizes at $100 each. The deadline to apply is June 9th 2014.

Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship Application Now Available! Application Deadline is June 10, 2014
Baker Donelson is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where the individual differences among us are understood, respected, appreciated and recognized as sources of strength of the Firm. These qualities enrich the environment in which we work. With this in mind, Baker Donelson will again award three scholarships to diverse law students who will complete their first year of law school by June 2014. Recipients will be awarded a six-week, salaried 2L Summer Associate position for the summer of 2015 in one of the Firm offices. Additionally, each recipient will be awarded $10,000 which will be paid prior to the third year of law school to help defray the cost of law school tuition and related expenses. The Young Lawyers Division of the Federal Bar Association, Tampa Bay Chapter, Invites You to Attend The Law Clerk Experience: From Applying to Clerking for a Federal Judge: A Panel Discussion with Former Federal Judicial Law Clerks
This is a great opportunity for law students, recent law school graduates and lawyers to learn about the federal judicial clerkship application process and the law clerk experience. Panelists will include former judicial law clerks to a Circuit Judge in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; a District Judge and a Magistrate Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida; and a Bankruptcy Judge in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. The event takes place on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Sam M. Gibbons Federal Courthouse, Jury Assembly Room (3rd Floor). The cost is Free for Members. This is a members only event. Law Students are encouraged to become Law Student Associate members of the FBA in order to attend. The Global Network of Women Peacebuilders Seeks Interns for the Period of May to December 2014
The Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) is a coalition of women groups and other civil society organizations from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and Europe that are actively involved in advocacy and action for the full and effective implementation of the Security Council resolutions on women and peace and security. GNWP engages in four areas: Capacity Building, Advocacy, Research and Institutional Strengthening. Qualifications include a background/interest in public policy and advocacy, with a particular interest in moving global issues to national and community level; amplifying the voices of grassroots women at the global level; knowledge of international policies (and discussions) that impact women; excellent information and communication skills, with attention to evolving strategies that bring issues on women, peace and security to the public forum; stellar writing and research abilities; a self-starter with the ability to keep deadlines and commitments; French and/or Spanish language skills are helpful; and a creative outlook, enthusiasm and a fresh perspective. GNWP will cover monthly metro cards and give small stipends whenever possible.

Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area Law Student Clerkships
Under the supervision of an attorney, Lawyers' Committee law clerks prepare legal memoranda, conduct legal research, perform other litigation and non-litigation related legal assignments and conduct client interviews. Clerks also participate in legal staff meetings. Law clerkships are available in each of the core issue areas of focus: racial justice, immigrant rights and voting rights. If you have a particular interest in one of these areas or a specific project of Lawyers' Committee, please indicate this in your cover letter, as there may be opportunities to work with staff on special projects in these areas. Summer law clerks are ordinarily expected to work 37.5 hours per week for 10 weeks. Law clerks may seek academic credit or independent funding for their work. Law clerks at Lawyers' Committee may be considered in the future for post-graduate fellowships at Lawyers' Committee, including the Thurgood Marshall Fellowship and sponsorship for the Skadden and Equal Justice Works Fellowships.
